Dr Simon Kennon and the Editorial Board present Volume 13, issue 1 of Interventional Cardiology Review.
This issue comprises a range of reviews and expert opinion articles focused on current topical issues in interventional cardiology and structural heart interventions. Highlights include discussions on diagnosis and treatment of TAVI valve thrombosis, including the practice of fracturing surgical aortic valve bioprostheses during TAVI procedures in order to optimise valve areas. The issue also includes reviews of mitral and tricuspid interventions and the benefits and limitations of transcatheter devices as an alternative to surgery as well as a review of the literature relating to incomplete revascularisation as a key limitation of PCI when compared to coronary artery bypass surgery.
